Can she talk?

Long time no write here- something about birthdays, moving house, Christmas, parents visiting, having to share a computer with someone doing a distance learning course.....

Older children keep asking if L can talk, and I seem to reply by saying no and then listing (with C's help) what she can say, so here goes: quack, woof, moo, tickle tickle, mama, dada (also used for grandparents and C). She has plenty of other noises and gestures (plus a few signs- where does one become another) that allows her to get the message accross (when not getting a response, get louder seems to be her way!!).

And is she walking? When she feels like it! Managed 6-8 steps twice just after taking Granny and Grandpa to the airport, and repeated it the next day on Skype, but reluctant since! She's very keen on shoes (and hats and clothes!) maybe a pair of her own would inspire- but the shoes here (unless goldplated in price) are not fitted so she'll be better off with bare feet.

The other child? Is spending his days building and rebuilding large train layouts which are making good use of the huge amount of space in the lounge. He studies the TTTE catalogue and uses ideas and concepts in his own layouts. He then tells his sister she's not allowed there (ie over the track to the rest of the lounge)- its a car park! To her credit she's sucessfully crawled over the track many times in the last few days which is more than I can say for the parents!

He's starting kindy next week- i wonder what his ideas about it are? Need to get out some books about going to school/nursery/playgroup.

Hmm that's all for now.....
