'gain' (me too)

Whatever my brother does /gets/ eats, I must do it too! L is being very communicative with lots of repeating of sounds for words- a list of words she uses now would be much harder to create than a few weeks ago (which I'm still intending to do having made a similar list for C at 18mths)- I'm not convinced many are consistently used though, except 'gain' which means either 'again' or 'and me' depending on the context, and of course 'no' which doesn't always mean that!

Talking of repeating lots of sounds, after an 8 month wait we now have a Speech Therapist for C- saw her on Tuesday, and she left us lots of homework- so far we've worked most on p, b, m sounds, making sure lips are together (not rabbit teeth- try it you'll see what I mean), but that's only 1 of 3 focuses so we'll be kept busy til we next see her (prob every week/ fortnight for an undefined while starting August- much more attention than I was expecting!!). Pray he keeps a good attitude to (re)learning and wisdom for parents to know how much to push!

Copying one's brother, or always wanting to be involved has led to the development of sibling suppression, ie he/she isn't doing what I want them to do so I'm going to lie on them!! works both ways but mostly involves puzzle pieces! On a more useful note when reluctant to eat at teatime eating one's siblings (identical) food is so much more appealing than eating one's own!

On a sad note, 2 of C's 3 excellent kindy teachers are leaving this term- we've only been there 2 terms but we'll miss them and the friendships we've already made. I find the vacancies strangely tempting, but I think more to have the posts filled than any desire to be working (not to mention the fact that I'd probably need to retrain).
