Stuff

Finally made some tamarillo chutney- the tamarillos have been gathering around the fruit bowl for a while! They are so attractive- shiny dark red skins, orange flesh with dark red seeds, and very fragrant- of course none of this can be seen after 2 hours of simmering, but it added enjoyment to the preparation! The entry into preserves making is inspiring- especially when there's all these fruits in the garden- next up probably Marmalade when the grapefruit is ripe, so we'll keep saving the jars!

Also enjoyed my first home grown brocoli last weekend which has inspired to plant some more- something pleasing about cutting it as needed. We'll see what the success rate of these seedlings is- present risk being that they'll be buried under the falling leaves.

Talking of falling leaves- there are many- this week's game is to make a big pile and hide the motorbikes (have borrowed extra one from toy library) in it- much excitement! Can see more and more sky where before there was just tree!
