Today

I really am going to write something on here TODAY! I spend my days thinking of things I'd like to write here but by the evening don't fancy doing so!

Today we spent a long overdue day in the garden- gardening that is- not relaxing. It has to be said that keeping on top of a garden this size would keep any couple busy without being one with young children and currently low energy levels! Everything just keeps growing!! Anyway we did a good bash on the front garden so that should please our neighbours! (those who were looking after our house while we were away made some comment about weeds........). My daily priority is the veg- at the moment they need daily watering (and caterpillar massacres!), but we're beginning to harvest- have had 1 courguette, a few blueberries, and just about to taste our first 2 tomatoes-yum!

We just have one week left of kindy holidays- I think the children and I have enjoyed a slower pace for a couple of weeks- C said he was enjoying playing with lego so much he wanted to go back to kindy 6 days late! We've done lots of playing at home which has allowed for my zero energy/ avoidance of overheating, and getting L seriously started on the potty training. She's fine around home with bare bottom half- breakthrough this afternoon was staying dry even though she had pants and shorts on!!! The 2 of them have been getting on very well with older one helping younger at times- very sweet! (they can both be very bossy too!). And how could I forget- L has moved into a big bed (climbing out of the cot was becoming more than a possibility!), after the first couple of days when I'd often find her asleep on the floor (where she'd put herself- not fallen), she does seem to have got the hang of staying in bed- though moves around a lot!

How far back do I go on this post?! We loved having Tim's sister and family here over Christmas- the 4 kids got on very well- amazing how cousins can just be so accepting of each other even with a big age gap (they are 8 and 10)- and they seemed to understand C well enough too- have had quite a few comments in the past week about how much clearer he's sounding. We all went away together to the Bay of Islands for a week- Tim and I had spent a week there on Honeymoon- 6 years ago and winter it was beautiful then but even better in warm sunshine- though lots more boats and people! And back to Christmas? No maybe thats too far- some gaps just have to be left unfilled!
