Hmm can't now remember what I was going to write about under this title but like it as a title!! Erm lots of bits and pieces. Tim now has an NZ drivers licence (I need to study for my theory test before September). L is coming out with many new words daily and even stringing a couple together- today 'I see' (wanting us to lift her up to see an exhibit at the museum).
C is definitely better and back at Kindy. Still processing the whole experience tho I think, judging by the questions we are now getting. (Btw have I said his sleeping is near silent, his voice clearer and beginning to make progress on speech sounds (eg mouse not mouf)). He made us giggle yesterday- he fell over resulting in a very small graze on his hand- obviously stinging he requested juice and ice cream- now healing foods in his mind! (he only got a plaster!).
The rain continues- some days showers, some days frequent showers, other days just rain!! So thank God again for my covered drying area which also becomes a wind tunnel for added drying effect! We've been out a few days this week, and mostly returned caked in mud- favourite game splashing in puddles which normally results in one or both falling over and returning very wet- that reminds me- must dry out the gumboots! It's great fun though- and definitely beats being inside all the time! Helps too that now a couple of friends have dogs to walk- This is Hugo: (ok so its sunny in that photo- taken over a month ago- hence lack of mud!)
We've had a Japanese lodger for nearly a month now. We feed him but He offered to cook Japanese food for us once a week- great for me to have a night off cooking, as well as sample new food. Last week we had sushi- the adults had raw salmon, the children had cheese and ham (smaller ones round edge). C wasn't so sure about the seaweed, but L wolfed it all down!
Time to return to some marmalade planning- we have a tree laden with grapefruit that needs using!

When I do sushi my children scoff the raw fish and seaweed but won't touch the nasty vinegary rice!
